❋ Social ConnectionsWe hold regular, all-inclusive spaces for our young people to connect, focused around music creativity and appreciation.
Our phone-free spaces are focused around inclusivity, free expression, and a community mentoring model.
❋ MentoringWe encourage and develop our young people to step into the mentoring role. Whether 5 or 50, we are all role models, teachers, and caretakers in society.
❋ Practical SkillsWe work with our people to repair broken music gear to add to our gear library!
This includes basic electronics, soldering, and audio engineering skills.
❋ Gigs and EventsWe support young artists to organise gigs and events, to showcase their talent, gain experience, and increase confidence.
❋ Music Gear LibraryWe are developing an inspiring collection of music hardware, which will be available for our members to hire and use at home.
❋ Future MusicTearing down sonic borders and boundaries, we help our young people create and promote new live music in Nelson/Whakatu.

Our Goal is to support creative youth in our community to find their path, to celebrate their creative expression, to develop practical and soft skills, and to build a creative scene in Nelson that New Zealand can proud of.
Who are we?
Robz Jones and Gem View are two local musicians/producers with a background in supporting and mentoring youth in New Zealand.
Robz founded ‘Mentored By Nature’ in Raglan, a community-focused Nature all-ages Nature school teaching traditional bushcraft skills and nature connection. He has been making and performing music for 3 decades around New Zealand, currently working on live-improvised electronica.
Gem is an artist with a passion for empowering youth. She worked in a community recording studio in West Auckland with at-risk youth, and has mentored many young souls through the early chapters of life.
